The Project Coach will:
Work closely with the Operations Manager to provide comprehensive services that support and meet the needs of participants while ensuring contracted project activities are undertaken.
Identify clients’ needs and skills enhancement requirements. Assess eligibility and suitability.
Provide current information to clients regarding access to support programs and services.
Provide clients with current labor market information and training options.
Provide assistance to clients in employment planning and career development.
Facilitate employment readiness individual and group activities with participants.
Provide clients with information and guidance on resume preparation, job search, interview skills, and job maintenance.
Perform all duties necessary to ensure successful participation in training and retention of employment.
Liaise with job developer and operations manager to identify the most suitable subsidized work experience and employment options.
Assume responsibility for daily caseload management, attendance records, maintain client files, ensure confidentiality, and that all information is recorded accurately into appropriate databases.
Prepare detailed progress reports as outlined in the contract agreement.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a variety of responsibilities concurrently.
Ability to set objectives, plan work in advance and meet deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to respect confidential information.
Demonstrated knowledge of community resources.
Ability to liaise with various community agencies including employment centers, social service agencies, education facilities.
Well-developed relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to plan and assist in the design of programs/services as identified by clients and current trends.
Proficiency in Google, Microsoft Office Suite, and related computer applications.
Completion of University with a degree in Education, social sciences or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in counseling techniques, career planning, job search techniques, and knowledge of the changing labor market.
A valid Ontario driver’s license and access to an automobile.
Bilingual in the French language is an asset.
